Maya's Personal Snow DayIt would snow today. On the one day of the year that she happened to wake up late to school, the one day of the year where her shoes had disappeared (she was wearing Riza's, naturally, they were a bit big),and the one day of the year when it wasn't forecast to snow. It snowing pretty heavily, the flakes clumping together.

Maya knew that she couldn't be late. It wouldn't be tolerated. But with all the snow, she could barely see three feet in front of her. The risk of running into someone or tripping were high. Had her shoes not been missing, had she woken up at the correct time, she wouldn't have had to deal with this.

She stopped at a curb.
